UV Sterilization Systems

Apply a targeted microbial-control barrier within verified flow and dose conditions.

UV systems expose flowing water to ultraviolet energy for targeted microbial control. Marine Blue supplies and integrates UV treatment where the project biosecurity and process strategy require it.

01

Operating principle

Water passes through a reactor where UV lamps deliver energy to microorganisms. Effective treatment depends on wavelength, intensity, exposure, flow, water clarity, transmittance, fouling and reactor condition.

02

Role in the system

UV is a treatment barrier, not a replacement for filtration, hygiene, quarantine or biosecurity procedures. Mechanical pretreatment and water quality influence the dose that reaches the target organisms.

03

Applications

  • Source-water treatment
  • RAS return or side-stream treatment
  • Hatchery and nursery systems
  • Quarantine and live holding
  • Project-specific effluent or process-water duties

04

Integration requirements

Coordinate upstream solids control, hydraulic flow, bypass, isolation, electrical supply, intensity monitoring, alarms, interlocks and downstream contact or storage arrangements.

05

Operation and maintenance

Clean sleeves, inspect lamps and seals, monitor intensity, replace lamps according to approved guidance, verify sensors and maintain records. Fouling can reduce delivered treatment.

06

Customer value

UV can add a controlled non-residual microbial barrier when the water, flow and dose are correctly defined. Sterilization performance should not be claimed without validated product data and conditions.
